Wintersun Memorial Performance Award

Wintersun (Sunny) competed in eventing, dressage and showing, and in this, gave enjoyment to many a spectator as well as winning many awards in open company. With the passing of the remarkable stallion Wintersun, it is fitting that a memorial award be instigated that encourages members young and old to promote the versatility of their horses in all facets of horse sports.

Renew your membership now and participate in this new award. The Australian Haflinger Breeders Association has joint goals of breeding and promoting Haflinger horses in Australia. There is no better promotion for the breed as the horses themselves. Let us know how you promote your Haflingers.

The point score system of the system is as follows, per horse:

Annual Membership to a Equestrian Club: 30 Points

Examples include pony club, riding club, harness club or trail club.

Attendance of a Non-club Event: 10 Points

This includes competitions, breed displays and exhibitions.

Appearance in the Media: 10 Points

Bonus 10 points if you get your photo in the paper! Win a big award and tell your local paper.

The points will be tallied from date of membership renewal to the classification weekend each year. The results will be tallied by the Promotions Officer, verified by the committee and the winner announced at the classification day.

To obtain points, attend an event with your horse, then forward details to the promotions officer stating horse name, registration number, dates and the nature of the event, contact phone number and results for the newsletter. The pbwiki will be updated with your horses point score!

This page is dedicated to the entrants in the 2008/9 Wintersun Memorial Performance Award. For each club membership, 30 points is allocated per horse. For each entry in a competition 10 points is awarded. A photo in the paper or similar also deserves an award of 10 points.
